Point Percentage refers to the proportion of available points that a team has earned over the course of a season. It is a valuable metric used to assess a team's performance and compare their success relative to other teams, regardless of the number of games played.

To calculate the Point Percentage, you need the team's total points and the maximum possible points they could have earned. In the NHL, teams earn two points for a win and one point for an overtime or shootout loss. Therefore, the maximum possible points in a game is two.
